I could almost hear the AD + EP screaming in the background to the production team, "That's it guys, bring them in closer, make it even more intense. In CoD I remember one moment where you shoot down around 50 Stukas as they all dive bomb you. It once took me and two mates an hour to take out one tank! Some would think this sounds boring, but in fact it was exhilarating and really felt like we'd achieved success through our own decisions and skill. It's not just the art that's great but the freedom and realism/difficulty, making everything so much more rewarding. The locations all felt real whereas CoD and similar feel to me like 'a game artist's idea of what a location should been like after a few google searches.' As I said in an earlier post it's not just about shaders, polys and high res textures, it's about artists who really study and understand their subject. Obviously the graphics look somewhat dated by today's standards, but the quality still shines through IMO. The weapons are deadly and each mission really lets you decide how you want to do it so you can just play the game again and again (I played as 'lone wolf' SP and coop for multi). Their art, attention to detail, lighting, atmosphere and 'sense of place' is *brilliant* and I love the way the game feels.

I'm a huge fan of Illusion Softworks (now 2K Czech) - I must have put so many hours into that game (both SP and coop). H&D2 is one of the best games ever made IMO. 2K A Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia.846 A Total War Saga: Fall of the Samurai.
